2016 Membership Update

If you are an active member, Thank You— If you are not, Why Not??

Please Read.

We have over 500 members in our KC Council. At last week’s meeting we had 6 members show up for the meeting. This is not the first time this happened. If at least 12 members do not show up at the meetings, according to our by-laws, we cannot conduct business, plan for future events or even pay bills. At our meeting June 1st we are supposed to have election of officers. Some of our present officers have held their offices 3-5 even 9 years. They are getting tired. We need members to take their turn serving as an officer. It is not right to put responsibility on a few persons for years and years.

All members belong on a bingo group but some members never show up to work at bingos or other fundraising activities. Yet you’ll see them at functions where there is free food and drinks.

I really appreciate all you who attend the meetings, hold an office in the KC’s, show up to work at our bingos and other fundraising activities. You know who you are and you are appreciated.

I realize that some of you cannot be active in our local Knights of Columbus Council because you are students away at school, or have jobs out of town or may have moved out of the area or maybe you are no longer physically able to get around like you used to. Thank you for what you’ve done for the KC’s in the past and come see us when you can.

To those of you are members living in the local area and are physically able but whom we never see—We need you. Yes I know you are busy. So is everyone else. We are all busy. We all have other things we could be doing.

None of us can do everything, but we can all do something.

I’m sorry if this offends anyone but I think it is something that needed to be said.
