Message from the Grand Knight
The 36th Annual Missouri Knights of Columbus Horseshoe Tournamant was held August 19, 20 and 21st at our Council. A BIG THANK YOU to those who worked days, weeks and months preparing for this tournament and to those who worked during the tournament and to those who worked after the tournament cleaning up and taking down the tents, pits, and other items. It took a lot of work by a lot of members and their wives to make the tournament a success. I especially want to thank our chairman Mike Miller and co-chairman Cody Essner. If I could give them a raise I would.
I am proud of our Council
Fourth Degree. There will be a Fourth Degree Exemplification for you 3rd degree members who want to advance to the 4th degree (the patriotic degree of our order). It will be held Saturday September 10, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Jackson KC hall.
Installation of Officers. We will have installation of officers at our meeting September 21st at 7:00 PM. District Deputy Gary Beussink will conduct the installation ceremony. Food and drink after the meeting. Don’t worry–you can come and won’t get elected–the election has already taken place.
Columbus Day Banquet. Mark your calendar. On October 9th we will have our annual Columbus Day Banquet. Happy hour will be from 5 to 6 PM. The meal will be served at 6 PM. All KC members and their wives (or girlfriends) and the wives of our deceased members are invited. At the banquet we will present the awards to the Knights and Families of the month and to the Knight and Family of the year. If you are coming please contact Gary Ziegler at 573-576-6451. That way we will have enough food (and drinks) for you. LADIES–PLEASE BRING A DESERT
Tootsie Roll Drive. The 45th Annual Tootise Roll Drive will be held Friday October 7th, Saturday October 8th and Sunday October 9th. This is a special campaign for people with Intellectual disabilities sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. It is a way in which the Knights help God’s special people. Please help us help them.
