Herb Holder

Herbert Holder, 84 of Scott City passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 10, 1934 to Fern Rubel and was raised by his grandparents, Albert & Caroline Rubel. He married the love of his life Norma LeDure on June 11, 1955 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso. They had 63 wonderful years together.

He was a retired diesel mechanic from ABF Truck Lines and Wiethop Truck Sales. He hauled gravel before and after retirement with his dump truck. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of Knights of Columbus and served in the National Guard.

He was a kind and caring person, his family was his life. He loved to ride horses with his children and loved to coach them in baseball. He loved drinking coffee with his friends and catching up on the latest news at the coffee shop. He loved mowing and moving snow with his old Ford tractor.

He is survived by wife, Norma; two sons, Ronnie and Randy Holder of Scott City; three grandchildren, Mitch (Lexie) Holder of Benton, Jeff Holder of Scott City and Abbey Holder of Jackson and a brother, Jim Menees of Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Holder and a brother, Bob Rubel and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.
