John F. Schwartz

John F. Schwartz, 74 of Cape Girardeau, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Southeast Hospital.

He was born February 11, 1944 in Cape Girardeau to the late John and Johanna (Backfish) Schwartz.

John and Neisha A. Castleman were married in June of 1964. She survives.

John was a graduate of Scott City High School. He worked as a jailer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department and was a lifelong farmer. John was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6420. John’s last act of kindness was being able to help others as an organ donor.

Loving survivors include his wife of 54 years, Neisha of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Jill Essner of Jackson, Missouri, Dana (David) Vandeven of Marble Hill, Missouri; sons, Matthew (Lorrie) Schwartz of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Philip (Tonya) Schwartz of Perryville, Missouri; sister, Shirley (Ed) Beel of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Emily (Curtis) Hall, Stephanie (Aaron) Horrell and Eric Essner, Victor (Ashley) Vandevan, Trent (Kristen) Vandeven, Mary, Anna, John and William Schwartz.; three great-grandchildren, Willow, Easton, Bailey and one on the way.
