John H. Weissmueller

John Henry Weissmueller, 91 of Kelso, Missouri died July 22, 2015 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born April 30, 1924 in Kelso to Lawrence and Ella Pobst Weissmueller. He married Martha Agnes Elfrink on January 17, 1948.

John was retired from General Sign Company and from farming the homestead. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in World War II in the Pacific and received the Victory Medal, PTO (Bronze Battle Star) and Philippine Liberation Ribbon.

He was a member and Eucharistic minister of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, full time member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6420 and the VFW 6407 in Scott City.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; two sons, Bill (Doris) Weissmueller of Gordonville, Missouri and Terry (Nancy) Weissmueller of Chaffee; four daughters, Judith (Don Eaton) Weissmueller of Sante Fe, New Mexico, Ella Weissmueller and Germaine (Tim) Cannon of Chaffee and Carol (Karl) Grubbe of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Lorena Wolak of Jackson, Missouri and Clara Steimle of New Hamburg, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
